2023 Review

Table Of Contents

Hey there,

I’m Natasha Cozad, former maker of websites and brander of businesses and I’m looking for my pack.

Let me explain…

Toward the end of 2023 (on my birthday!), my husband Nick and I signed the papers to buy a home that was built in 1900.

Old House Cozad

It needs a lot of work, but it’s an adorable 2-story, farmhouse-style home that I can’t wait to eventually live in.

Someday.

Maybe even soon!

For the next few years, I’m going to be renovating Old House Cozad. It’s going to take significant amounts of time and energy. 😅

This dovetails nicely with my overall desire to step away from branding and web design.

A lifelong career

See, I made my first website when I was 13, and I’m almost 40 now. #eldermillenial

When I started, I was a kid, and now, I have two kids.

A change is required!

Having all these loose ends and projects in progress is wreaking havoc on my ability to organize and prioritize.

I have ADHD and since I was diagnosed late in life, I’m still figuring out how to manage it.

And here’s the hard truth I spent most of 2023 accepting – none of my recent brands have found success.

I attribute that to the fact that I haven’t found one that holds my attention for long enough to get a foot hold on any market and also because I’ve put up barriers around my energy and that has sent the wrong—or right—signals to the universe.

I think subconsciously I wanted this change long before I actually stopped to think about why I was finding it so hard to market myself or any of my projects.

Was it just stubbornness, and being absolutely unwilling to accept defeat?

Oh yeah.

But I couldn’t figure out if it was something that I should push through or not. And… I still haven’t decided either way.

Last year I spent a lot of time reflecting on my stalled career, and I kept coming back to this idea of retiring as a service provider. But I have so much knowledge and experience that I don’t want to just go to waste… so I’ve decided to put it all here.

What’s next?

Eventually, my brands (except Fanciful and Brutal Uterus) will live here at NKC.

All my best blogs, freebies, training, and resources will either be culled or updated and then sorted into capsules:

  1. Define the brand
  2. Align the system
  3. Refine the process
  4. Behind the scenes

Topics will range from starting a new business (including branding and marketing) to growing an existing brand with smart systems (and automation) that are easy to implement and use.

I don’t know what the future holds for me professionally, and I’m kinda digging that.

If the SEO gods deem my content worthy to show to you, I hope you do too.

xo, Natasha
